We are considering the possibility of having w00tstock come to San Diego during this year’s Comic-Con. Specifically, on Thursday, July 22nd. (This would not be affiliated with Comic-Con in any way; it would be a separate show held in a theater nearby somewhere) Your *honest* answer to the following poll will be most helpful.
NOTE: Please only answer if you will be in the San Diego area on July 22. We’re trying to get a semi-accurate measure of what attendance might be like; if you’re going to be in, say, Duluth, MN that day, we can safely assume that you won’t be attending.
UPDATE: As per questions in the comments section, if the show does happen, it would be at a venue within walking distance of the convention center. (We understand this may affect how some of you vote)

(Dejected) Arrrrrrrrrrrrgh! My wife and I would LOVE to attend… but our flight doesn’t arrive in San Diego until 7:30pm on Thursday. I may cry.
I would like to comment that since most of us are going to SDCC with no plans to leave, it would be really helpful if you scheduled the show somewhere walking distance from the general convention center area/along the bus lines, otherwise it might be hard to get there. that could be a limiting factor for a lot of people.
Addendum to earlier comment: If you confirm this soon enough, and if we’re able to get tickets, my wife and I will suck up the $100+ per person it’d cost to change to an earlier flight. WE LOVE YOU THAT MUCH.
Where’s the “I’m not going to Comic-Con, but if I was, I would totally be at w00tstock, oh and come to my city, X” option?
I second Lisa’s comment. There was no space on the poll for “I would 100% want to attend, but could only get there if it was easily accessible from the convention center.”
I’ll be there!
Lisa/Elizabeth: it would indeed be walking distance from the Convention Center.
I’m definitely in. Some venues near the convention center with good transit access that are worth looking into would be the Spreckels Theatre, the Balboa Theatre, House of Blues, and the San Diego Civic Theatre.
The Embarcadero is within walking distance to SDCC. Looks like Vidego Games Live will be at the Civic Theatre on the 24th of July instead of the Embarcadero, so that would be a really good venue.
How much does Wootstock cost? It looks like the Chicago show is $25, would SD be the same? Sorry, but cost is a consideration.
I really wish ‘Also, I hate you.’ was a separate option I could have clicked in addition to the ‘maybe’ option. Not that I hate you, because I really have no idea who Paul and Storm are, but, still, I would have clicked it.
I am not going to ComicCon but I live in San Diego and if you have a w00tstock here I will come and drag at least 5 of my friends. So that makes me 6 yes votes, really…
Bleyddyn – we’ll keep the cost in the same ballpark as previous w00tstocks.
I’m flying into San Diego from London on the 21st for Comic Con. I will be tired. I will be sweaty (but will shower). I will be a broken, horrific husk of a man.
But, by god, I will be there.
I’m there as well, Could not make Portland because of the car wreck, but SD is a short drive. I would like to cover w00tstock for the Neverhood show.

As long as it is definitely on Thursday night and not Friday or Saturday (already have plans for those nights), then I am 99.9999% certain I would attend.
ARCK! I’m only going Friday and Saturday!
This stinks.. now if it was Friday my answer would be YES, YES and YES again!!
I’ll be in SD for the con, but as a first timer, I don’t know what to expect. I guess it really would depend on what’s happening at the con that day vs what you guys are doing.
I would come if there were no Comic-con screenings that night and if Wootstock ended early enough for me to camp out in lines for Friday’s morning panels. Wootstock would be competing with a lot of other events in the world’s tightest 4-day round-the-clock schedule.
I live in Europe and can’t afford the trip, so I will stay home and be in a sulk.
While I’m not attending Comic-con right now, I would point out that people have a lot to do already. So it would be better to have time to spend just on Wootstock.
On the other hand, it would lower costs, since it would be one, rather than two events.
This would be fantastic!! I’ve already got tix to see Joel McHale down in SD on Friday night, so seeing w00tstock on Thursday night would take things to a new level of awesome.
Ditto what Athene said. I am crushed. I cannot be in San Diego this year. If I could I would be at w00tstock. Please, oh please – come back to San Francisco!!!
Next time, add an option for “I would attend, but I live far far away.” It’s time we knew how many people are prevented from attending awesome by the cruel mistress known as Geography.
Sorry should have read more carefully. I thought you were referring to Phoenix ComiCon this weekend.
I would totally show up! Except that I work at Comic-Con, and it all depends whether I work a shift at that time. And if the trolley can take me there.
I live in Canada and would love if Wootstock came to Toronto for FanExpo – I would go to that show in about half a second, and bring all my friends with me. Unfortunately, it seems that you guys don’t like Canada soo…
I vote Duluth. Since you mentioned it.
I’m going to be out of town that week. Well out of the state of California, from where I could has simply driven down to San Diego.
I would be there! 100%, no doubt about it!
Wife and are ARE going to the CO, and WOULD attend Wootstock as well if it was held, for sure. -Bob Grace
I would go, I live in Coronado right across the bay! Easy trip for me!
I told the boyfriend and another couple, we would all go! That makes 4 of us.
-J.McK.
I heard about w00tstock from the neverhood show. I live close and would also attend if you have a show down here. -Andrew (Geek/Nerd!)
If the tickets are reasonable, I would LOVE to meet Wil, Adam, and hear Paul & Storm! I would be going because I am a big fan of Wil’s and Paul & Storm. (Sorry Adam…but the hubby LOVES Mythbusters, does THAT help?). Either way, both of us want to go. Will you be letting people know here?
-Donna
Morgan Spurlock is working on a Comic-Con documentary. http://comic-con.morganspurlock.com/ Contact him.
Hubby and I will be at SDCC and would be willing to go, if we can get in! I’m betting the sellout factor would be high.
I have a car-full of people ready to drive from Phoenix to San Diego, an 8 hour ride in a car across the hot desert of Death Valley, with the sole purpose of attending w00tstock WITHOUT attending ComiCon. PLEASE make it happen! PLEASE!
I am totally there, and I have at least, one, maybe another 2-10 people who might come too (some of them are stinkers about camping out for panels and such tho, so I don’t know exactly how many since programming’s not up yet) but for sure I am in.
Wendy, yay for that ridiculous drive from Phoenix! It’s only 5 hours if you take the I8 instead of the I10 (which makes you drive down from the north side).
And I can vouch for her sentiments – when word of this gets out here in Phoenix, you will have people who will drive over solely for your show regardless of SDCC
3 friends and I are were considering road tripping from San Jose. I only discovered today that Comicon was also in San Diego. With this new found knowledge I can all but guarantee we’ll be there if you host a show.
